Recently, I was afforded the opportunity to attend some leadership training at work. I was pleasantly surprised that it incorporated personality profiles -assessments of our natural strengths, talents, and aptitudes – before anything else.

I suppose I was expecting to be given a leadership box to crawl into.

“Here! This is what you need to conform to in order to lead. Get in!”

Instead, there is a foundation laid of how we naturally function, our various values, and our preferred ways of spending our time. Of course common practices of successful leadership will be covered later, but I’m thankful they valued taking the time to “Know Thyself” first.

What are you actively doing to be the best you?
